Visitor information in English
Waxholmsbolaget is public transport on water to the islands in the Stockholm Baltic archipelago.
Whether you are a visitor or one of the locals, Waxholmsbolaget is there to let you experience the unique nature and culture of the Stockholm archipelago.
Waxholmsbolaget runs boat and ferry services in the Stockholm archipelago from Arholma island in the north to Landsort, on Öja island, in the south.
The services are a part of the public transport system in Stockholm County and run all year round, to provide residents, companies and visitors with connections between islands and several mainland harbours.
Come as you are!
It is not possible to book a seat on the Waxholmsbolaget services, just turn up at the port/jetty and board the boat. Normally, there is room for everyone that want to travel.
Midsummer, other summer weekends and days with very fine weather can be hectic, and it is advisable to be at the port/jetty well ahead of the departure time. In that way it is possible to call in extra services to make sure that all passengers get on board.
